A page in front of me and a pen in my hand,
Yet I couldn’t inscribe a word
They might not be enough
To match my emotions that is running high.
It’s been years since I have been to my grandma’s village
That old village of mine, where I feel I belong
The race against time has burdened up my life
Let the time cease and I want to be there.
Each flashes of my grandma’s village
Are crystal clear in my eyes,
I can remember every bit of it
Which nothing in the world could buy.
My heart goes to that village
The cattle’s grazing in the meadows
I could see myself thrilled in the paddy fields
And in the pond trying to catch the fishes around.
I would take a distant run and jump in the hays
I would ride the cattle’s pretending to be the cowboy,
And next the cowboy would chase me
And I am in my grandma’s arms in seconds.
I would feed the pigeons around
And do the unsuccessful milking of cows,
The sun sets and the moon would come up with her silver
shine
I put down my head in grandma’s laps, my eyes closed.
It was the time for fairy tales
And my grandma would take me to the fairy land
I enter those strange lands in my thoughts
I would imagine myself being the prince.
Being the prince, I would go searching for that place
Where I would find my beautiful princess
The prince and princess would get together and there was
a happy ending,
And the tiredness of the day would finally make me fall
asleep.
Sometimes, I do get lost in those cogitates
Whenever I try to give it the form of a poem.
The paper and my pen remain as it was,
I could never write.
Its been years since I have been to my grandma’s village
And I know, there will never be a day when I will be
there.
